Saree Care Guide

Every Sanshu saree carries a story—woven with craftsmanship, care, and thoughtful design. With the right attention, your saree can remain a cherished part of your wardrobe for years to come.

Washing

  • For the first wash, dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the fabric and colours.
  • Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild detergent.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or strong stain removers.
  • Do not soak the saree for extended periods.
  • Gently rinse without wringing or twisting the fabric.

Drying

  • Dry in shade to prevent fading and maintain colour vibrancy.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, especially for naturally dyed or richly coloured fabrics.
  • Hang the saree neatly or lay it flat to dry.

Ironing

  • Iron on a low to medium heat setting suitable for the fabric type.
  • Turn the saree inside out before ironing whenever possible.
  • For delicate fabrics, place a cotton cloth between the iron and the saree.

Storage

  • Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place.
  • Avoid plastic covers for long-term storage; breathable cotton or muslin bags are recommended.
  • Refold your sarees periodically to prevent permanent creases.
  • Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.

Special Care for Delicate Sarees

  • Sarees with embroidery, embellishments, zari, or handwork should be handled with extra care.
  • Store embellished sarees separately to avoid snagging.
  • Always dry clean heavily embellished pieces.

A Gentle Reminder

Minor variations in colour, weave, texture, or print are not imperfections but beautiful characteristics of artisanal craftsmanship. These unique details make every saree special and one of a kind.

Thank you for choosing Sanshu. We hope your saree becomes a part of your most treasured memories and stories.
